Gulf Coast Shrimp Fresh from the Boat

FRESH Shrimp right off the boat

The Freshest Shrimp on the Coast

The Kenny B - is docked along the Mary Walker Bayou at 3202 Oak Street in Gautier Mississippi. Situated between Hucks Cove and the old Tucies Fish Camp and Marina, the Kenny B can be seen from the street. The majority of shrimp boats on the Gulf Coast are operated commerically for the purpose of supplying shrimp to retail fish markets, hotels and resturants which are sold at retail prices. However there is one shrimper, The Kenny B, that for the past 15 years has sold direct to the public and has garnered a great reputation among it's loyal coustomer base. During the shrimping season from April to December, The Kenny B departs week after week into the Gulf and returns with a catch of fresh gulf shrimp. Arriving dockside usually Thursday or Friday, The Kenny B's customers line up to cash in on the weeks harvest which is usually sold out within a few hours. The combination of the freshest shrimp at great prices keeps the customers coming back. Even though retail markets, resturants and hotels operate on a "first in first out" basis, their supply of shrimp could remain on ice or cold storage for several days before being utilized. Buying direct from the shrimp boat ensures that the customer is getting the freshest shrimp avaiable and at the best pricing. The availability of each weeks catch is limited so contact us for our next expected docking time table!

About The Kenny B Skipper

Greg Baker Skipper - knew at an early age he wanted to be a shrimper. At around the age 12 or 13 his friends whos families were in the shrimping business began inviting him along and he fell in love with the shrimp boat adventure. After graduating high school Greg worked hard for other shrimpers until he saved enough to buy his first shrimp boat. Making a career in the shrimping business is hard work but Greg made it his mission to succeed. In 2008 Greg acquired his current shrimp boat which after scraping the hull and a new paint scheme he named after his father, Kenny Baker a local school principal of 30 years, and transformed it into the Kenny B as can be seen in our gallery.
